Overwhelmed...

I've said it many times but this time, it's really true. There's too much going on in my life right now! Between work, French class, working out, volunteering, various upcoming concerts, my second, part-time job, home improvements and puppy illnesses, I just can't seem to keep up.

Today, I realized that I am doing the Light the Night walk on the same day as the Dar Williams concert and on the same weekend that my friend James is in town. I'm somehow going to manage to do it all on that night...

It's fun though. I think I'm slowly going nuts but I think I'll get through it all. I'm really bummed because some of the things I really wanted to do, like accompany C on one of his upcoming business trips to Boston, or see Neil Gaiman on his Anansi Boys tour, aren't going to happen. But I guess these are good problems to have...

We just got done painting the floor of our 'doggie room' - the room where our four-legged kids live. It's been a big mess and I'm excited that we're finally getting it organized and a bit more cleaned up. Lots of stuff happening at the house over the next few months. It's mind-numbingly dull for everyone around me, I am sure but for me, new windows and gutters are extraordinarily exciting. I never thought I'd see the day...

I'm watching Slings and Arrows at the moment. It's a miniseries on Bravo and it's fantastic, particularly for a wannabe-Shakespeare-geek like myself. I really hope they do another season - there's talk of it. The writers know their Shakespeare... Plus, it has the ultra-yummy Paul Gross in it. Who is fabulous, as always.

And speaking of fabulous - I'm in the middle of reading Pratchett's new book, Thud! which is so far, quite excellent. I have to hurry up and finish it before Anansi Boys comes out next week!!
