A yummy treat in the Cracker Jack box of life...
I have to admit, I am a pretty lucky person. I have a great life and all-in-all, I'm pretty happy with who I am and what I do. Watching people lose everything the past couple of weeks certainly brought that home.
Once in a while, for me, I get an extra special treat and this weekend was the weekend for it. We went to see Ellis Paul who we have seen many, many times and I realized that I am one of the few, lucky souls who gets to see him live on a semi-regular basis. The show was fantastic, as always. We had excellent seats. Not that you can really find a bad seat in Eddie's Attic but our table was right up front for both shows so I got to actually put my pretty pink shoes up on the stage when he was singing. He's silly and funny and incredibly talented. Plus, he's dreamy... If I have any complaints it's that he's almost too much like 'one of us' so the audience tends to reply when he talks to them. This leads to some obnoxious people who insist on yelling out comments as if they are having private conversations with him...
Silly people... everyone knows, he's not talking directly to YOU... he's talking directly to ME :-)
Anyway, it was a great evening Saturday and it sort of hit me that we're really lucky because we happened to discover him several years ago and we happen to live within striking distance of Eddie's which is his favorite club to play in. He's apparently going to be increasing the frequency of his visits to so our luck continues.
AND, our music luck continued on Saturday - his opening act was this incredible guy named Vinx who we definitely need to keep a look out for. He was just incredible.
