EEEeeeEEEeeeeEEEeeeeeeee....

I've been so busy that I've forgotten to be excited about going to see Erasure in Toronto this weekend!

A friend sent me this article and got me all bouncy in anticipation :)

Mutants and spiders and crows...

Lots of big announcements coming in this week from the world-o-geeks.

First, George R. R. Martin has FINALLY completed his much-awaited next book in the Song of Ice and Fire series - A FEAST FOR CROWS. Yaay!

Neil's new book is getting out into reviewer's hands in the form of advanced reader copies.

And X-Men 3 is supposed to be utterly amazing (at least according to studio execs), even though Matthew Vaughn is no longer going to be on the project.

Plus, I got a knit Marvin the Paranoid Android doll for my birthday this week :)

It's good to be a geek...

SO COOL!

Just a quick one to say - this is the coolest thing ever and I want it as soon as it is out:

Where the heck is the summer?

It's been a nice Memorial Day weekend and I'm back at work for a couple of days. We're off to Toronto on Thursday night for a long weekend. Erasure is playing Saturday night at Massey Hall so I have to go see that!

It'll be a great birthday present, plus I'll get to see some good friends in Toronto.

Not a lot going on other than that. We took the dogs to Huntsville this weekend and had a nice time. Got some birthday cake shoved into my face, which is always nice. Plus my sister-in-law gave me the collected 1602 miniseries (Neil Gaiman, natch...) which I've been waiting for someone to give me for EVER. So I've had my nose buried in that most of the weekend.

This will be a busy week at work - we're getting ready for a big upgrade so there's lots of prep-work and training to be done...

The only interesting bit of news that I found today was that they've finally identified Deep Throat - http://www.msnbc.msn.com/id/8047258/. Pretty cool stuff, although I guess there weren't many folks who were too surprised by it...

I don't understand where summer is. It's been rainy and actually kinda cold the past few days and it looks like it's going to stay that way for most of this week. It doesn't seem right. We're in June and it's chilly in the evenings. I'm totally going to get sick...
